Fear of public speaking
Approximately 75% of people is afraid to speech. Most people fear public speaking more than anything: people even appear to be less afraid of death. The fear is accompanied by physical symptoms in some people: they get nauseous when they have to speak in public and the speech often happens with shaking knees and with a tremulous voice.
When you also often have nightmares in which you discover you’re speaking naked in front of a group of people, or when ‘erm’ suddenly appears to be the most important word in your vocabulary, it might perhaps be a good idea to start doing something about the fear of public speaking – also called ‘glossophobia’.
Lots of tips to get rid of this fear can easily be found when you start browsing. For example, it is advised to prepare your speech very well, to know your subject through and through, also to practice a lot in public speaking, to pretend to be self-confident, … However, these tips don’t appear to be very effective in practice.

Public speaking trainings/courses

Many courses and trainings also start from the same principle, namely that the fear of public speaking can be conquered by practice. These techniques can actually have some effect on the fear of speaking in public, though, but they won’t cure your fear.
Alternative therapies like hypnotherapy, NLP, homeopathy or acupuncture can appear to be temporarily effective, but after a certain time one will notice that the fear of public speaking is cropping up once more. For these techniques can temporarily deactivate the programmings in the subconscious mind responsible for fear. However, the programmings are still present in the subconscious mind and can surface later again.

Once the programmings that cause the fear of public speaking are gone, someone will never ever suffer from it again.
Fear can be treated very well with LTA therapy, although one fear can be eliminated more easily than another. Fear of public speaking can be more difficult to cure than other fears. There is a variety of unconscious patterns present in the subconscious mind, and they all have to be removed.

Jan had been suffering from fear of public speaking for years. Jan almost doesn’t have stage fright anymore and he can give a lecture effortlessly. You can read his testimony on LTA treatment public speaking. Dalila also used to be very fearful when speaking in public, but due to LTA she gave an excellent presentation as an entrance exam for school which impressed the assessing committee. You can find her testimony on LTA giving a lecture.

Distance treatment for speaking in public
People are treated from a distance with LTA. This means that they receive therapy without being present with the therapist in person. They can be treated intensively and for example 100 hours of therapy a month can be given. Or, for example, this 100 hours can be spread over 5 months, at a rate of 20 hours a month. The fear of speaking in public will be eradicated after about 100 hours in 50% of the people. LTA therapy costs €16 per hour. So this costs €1600 for 100 hours of therapy. Sometimes there’s a (big) improvement in the short term, but more hours of therapy are required to resolve the fear of public speaking completely and permanently. A lot of issues are always treated simultaneously, hence there are results in (sometimes many) different issues after 100 hours of therapy.
It takes a little longer to be completely cured of fear of public speaking with 25% of the people. However, the fear can already have sufficiently improved after, for example, 100 hours of therapy, so that it’s not necessary to receive additional therapy for a long time. Sometimes a lot of hours are required, though. Fortunately, there are also other issues that change simultaneously and that’s a bonus. One issue can happen to be persistent while dozens of other issues change much more quickly. On can then continue with the therapy at a rhythm of, for example, 10 hours per month until the fear is completely resolved.
